Box Score GREENWOOD – The Lander women's soccer team remained undefeated Wednesday night when the Lady Bearcats defeated USC Aiken, 2-1, in a Peach Belt Conference game at the Jeff May Complex.
Lander, which is off to its best start ever, improves to 7-0 overall and 3-0 in the PBC, while USC Aiken drops to 4-5, 1-3.
Kimberly Kesler gave Lander a 1-0 lead when she scored from directly in front of the goal on an assist from Casey Black at 29:01.
The Lady Bearcats stretched the lead to 2-0 at 40:35 when Erin Dooley fired a long pass in front of the goal and a USC Aiken player knocked it into the net.
The Lady Pacers' lone goal of the game came at 76:51 when Olivia Stiltner scored off an assist from Megan Smits.
Both teams had 15 shots, while Lander led in corner kicks, 2-1.
Lander goalkeeper Katie Lyle had eight saves.
Lander will next host the University of Montevallo at 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct 5, at the Jeff May Complex.
