Box Score SAVANNAH, Ga. - Senior David Pruett posted a double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds against his former school Thursday night, but it wasn't enough as the Lander men's basketball team dropped a Peach Belt Conference contest at Armstrong Atlantic, 91-80, in Alumni Arena.
Armstrong improves to 8-4 overall and 4-1 in the PBC, while Lander slips to 6-6, 1-4.
Pruett, who played his freshman season at Armstrong before transferring to Lander, connected on 7-of-18 field goals, including 3-of-7 threes and 7-of-8 free throws. Jareal Smith added 15 points, while Darius Carrier had 12 points and Dermaine Smith 11 points and 10 rebounds.
For AASU, Aric Miller tallied a game-high 34 points, while Antroine Williford had 20 points and 10 rebounds, and Kenny Bellinger II 14 points.
Lander, which led 44-43 at halftime, connected on 30-of-65 field goal (46.2 percent), including 10-of-22 threes (45.5 percent), and 10-of-16 foul shots (62.5 percent).
The Pirates made 34-of-73 floor shots (46.6 percent), including 10-of-23 threes (43.5 percent) and 13-of-21 free throws (61.9 percent).
The Bearcats outrebounded the Pirates, 44-38.
