Box Score TIGERVILLE – The Lander men's soccer team remained undefeated Friday night when the Bearcats defeated North Greenville, 3-2, in a non-conference game.
Lander improves to 3-0 overall, while North Greenville drops to 1-1-1 on the season.
Lander scored all three of its goals in the first half. Clement Simonin notched his first goal of the season on an assist from Matthew Bell at 6:06.
Robert Seaton then netted his first score of 2012 on an assist from Simonin at 27:47 to extend the Bearcat lead to 2-0.
Lander scored its final goal of the game at 41:14 when Chris Hobbs, another first-time scorer this season, found the back of the net on an assist from Kevin Durand.
North Greenville cut the lead to 3-1 at 74:56 on Todd Johnston's goal, assisted by Adam Turner. Turner then recorded the game's final score at 83:35 off an assist from Ben Montry.
Lander outshot the Crusaders, 19-10, and led in corner kicks, 7-6.
Barrett Nielsen totaled four saves for the Bearcats, while Justen Braddock led North Greenville with three.
