Box Score 2 VALDOSTA, Ga. – The Lander volleyball team slipped to 2-2 on the season Saturday afternoon when the Bearcats fell to Valdosta State, 25-16, 16-25, 25-16, 25-10, then lost to Florida Tech, 25-23, 25-21, 22-25, 25-22 in the Valdosta State Invitational.
Against Valdosta State, Jessica Register posted a double-double with 26 assists and 14 digs, while Tarryn Angermeier had 10 kills, Kiki Hennessey eight kills and 13 digs, and Madison Kubal 10 digs.
Valdosta State was led by Nikki McDaniel (13 kills, 14 digs), Katie Onushko (11 kills), Tania Tauiliili (11 kills), Destiny Berry (10 kills), Hope Ripsam (25 assists), Chelsea Luttfring (20 digs), and Ashley Lala (16 digs).
Against Florida Tech, Register had 40 assists and 18 digs for Lander, Hennessey 12 kills and 21 digs, Kaitlyn Harrison 16 kills and 11 digs, Kubal 20 digs, and Sarah Bradley 15 digs. Hennessey also had four service aces.
Florida Tech was led by Marilyn Dick (13 kills), Kaitlin Brennan (11 kills), Kim Juriga (10 kills), Alexis Mastela (53 assists, 13 digs), Angie Lassman (39 digs), Ezgi Avci (12 digs), Caitlyn Ballweber (12 digs), and Erin Hughes (11 digs).
