DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The Lander women's tennis team won two of three doubles matches and four singles en route to a 6-3 Peach Belt Conference victory Saturday afternoon over North Georgia at the North Georgia Tennis Complex.
Lander improves to 9-8 overall and 4-5 in the PBC, while North Georgia drops to 6-11, 1-5.
In singles, No. 1 Aurelia Ruffat (L) def. Natalia Escobar (NG), 6-7 (7-10), 6-2, 6-1; No. 2 Juliana Chiang (NG) def. Brandi Cordell (L), 3-4, retired; No. 3 Eliza Adusumilli (L) def. Audrey Marlette (NG), 6-3, 6-4; No. 4 Cayce Bradley (L) def. Jordan Poole (NG), 6-1, 6-1; No. 5 Nela Handac (NG) def. Lori Flick (L), 6-0, 7-6 (10-5); and No. 6 Raissa Adusumilli (L) def. Maria Romero (NG), 7-5, 6-0.
In doubles, No. 1 Escobar/Chiang (NG) def. Cordell/ Bradley (L), 9-8 (7-5); No. 2 Adusumilli/Adusumilli (L) def. Marlette/Poole (NG), 8-2; and No. 3 Ruffat/Nicola James (L) def. Handac/Romero (NG), 9-7.
