GREENWOOD – The No. 9-ranked Lander men's soccer team kept its hopes of winning the Peach Belt Conference regular-season championship alive Wednesday night when Chris Hobbs scored the lone goal  of the game on a penalty kick in a 1-0 PBC victory over North Georgia at the Jeff May Complex.

Lander improves to 11-2-1 overall and 6-1-1 in the PBC, while North Georgia drops to 7-5-2, 3-3-2.

Hobbs netted his penalty kick, his 10th goal of the season, at 74:09.

North Georgia outshot the Bearcats, 11-9, but Lander led in corner kicks, 4-1.

Lander goalkeeper Barrett Nielsen had five saves, while North Georgia's Kristopher Alonzo tallied four.
