GREENWOOD – Jamie Shaw scored two goals to lead the Lander women's soccer team to a 2-2 tie Saturday afternoon against Columbus State in a Peach Belt Conference game at the Jeff May Complex.
Lander moves to 6-1-1 overall and 1-1-1 in the PBC, while Columbus State is 6-1-2, 1-1-1.
After a scoreless first half, Columbus State took a 1-0 lead at 53:41 when Stephanie Lowery scored from the left side on an assist from Kiana Nicholson.
Shaw fired in her first goal, a shot from 25 yards out, to tie the game at 1-1 at 59:38.
Shaw gave Lander a 2-1 lead at 75:52 when she headed in a missed shot by Jenny Peterson.
Lowery forced the overtime when she scored on an assist from Jaci Carithers at 85:44.
Columbus State outshot Lander, 15-12, while Lander led in corner kicks, 5-4.
Lady Cougar goalkeeper Mary Mancin recorded five saves, while Lander's Chelsea Beetch had four.
