GREENWOOD – Zach Acree netted a pair of first-half goals Wednesday night to lead the Lander men's soccer team to a 3-2 non-conference victory over North Greenville at the Jeff May Complex.
Lander improves to 2-1-1 overall, while North Greenville slips to 2-2.
Lander jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead at 6:22 when Zach Acree headed the ball in on an assist from Fred Parker.
Acree netted his second goal just eight minutes later on an assist from Chris Hobbs to give the Bearcats a 2-0 advantage.

North Greenville rallied for two second-half goals to make the game close down the stretch. Alex Redding headed the ball for a score off an assist by Chandler Patterson at 65:30 to make it 3-1, then Todd Johnston's header off Patterson's corner kick at 82:22 made it a one-goal game.
Lander outshot the Crusaders, 14-12, while both teams tallied eight corner kicks.
Lander goalkeeper Scott Playle recorded four saves and North Greenville's Stephen Arneson had two.
