GREENWOOD - The No. 30 Georgia College women's tennis team handed Lander just its third loss of the season Friday afternoon, 8-1, in a Peach Belt Conference match at The Joe Cabri Courts.

Georgia College improves to 8-3 overall and 5-2 in the PBC, while Lander moves to 10-3, 3-3.

In singles, No. 1 Bertille Lion (G) def. Brandi Cordell (L), 6-1, 6-1; No. 2 May Johnson (G) def. Aurelia Ruffat (L), 6-1, 6-3; No. 3 Kayla Barksdale (G) def. Eliza Adusumilli (L), 6-1, 6-4; No. 4 Nicola James (L) def. Kim Lochner (G), 6-0, 6-2; No. 5 Lisa Setyon (G) def. Cayce Bradley (L), 6-0, 6-2; and No. 6 Michelle Lingner (G) def. Melanise Newbold (L), 6-1, 6-0.

In doubles, No. 1 Lion/Barksdale (G) def. Ruffat/Bradley, 8-0; No. 2 Johnson/Lingner (G) def. James/Adusumilli (L), 8-3; and No. 3 Setyon/Edwards (G) def. Cordell/Newbold (L), 8-1.
