ANDERSON – The Lander women's soccer team recorded its eighth shutout of the season Wednesday night when the Lady Bearcats defeated Anderson, 2-0, in a non-conference game.

Lander improves to 9-1-1 overall, while Anderson drops to 5-6.

After a scoreless first half, Jamie Shaw gave Lander a 1-0 lead at 50:16 on an assist from Hilary Ferguson.

Lander stretched the lead to 2-0 at 84:26 on Christina Barbour's unassisted goal.

The Lady Bearcats Chelsea Beetch, this week's Peach Belt Conference Goalkeeper of the Week, recorded three saves, while Anderson's Kaitlyn Neipp had four.

Lander outshot Anderson, 11-6, and led in corner kicks, 5-3.
