WINGATE, N.C. - Wingate University's Jamie McKenna and Luke Mulholland scored one goal each to lead the Bulldogs to 2-0 non-conference men's soccer victory over Lander Wednesday night at the WU Soccer Complex.
Wingate is 4-2 overall, while Lander falls to 2-4.
The Bulldogs scored both goals in the first half. In the 12th minute, McKenna took a cross from junior midfielder Felippe Imperatriz and beat Lander junior goalkeeper Scott Playle from 15 yards out.
Imperatriz helped on the second goal as well, finding Mulholland outside the box in the upper corner at 31:12.
Wingate outshot Lander, 20-3, including a 10-2 advantage in shots on goal.
Wingate goalkeeper Joey Calandra posted two saves. Playle had eight saves for Lander.
Lander hosts North Georgia College & State University at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in a Peach Belt Conference encounter.
