COLUMBUS, Ga. - The No. 4-ranked Columbus State women's soccer team scored two goals late in the second half to defeat Lander, 2-0, Friday night in a Peach Belt Conference game.
CSU remains undefeated at 5-0, while Lander slips to 4-2.
The Cougars' Stephanie Lowery broke the 0-0 deadlock at 74:11 when she hooked the ball into the far post on an assist from Leslie Mathews. Stephanie Parrish gave CSU a 2-0 lead at 83:44 on a header off an assist from Kim Gaughan.
Columbus State outshot Lander, 18-7, and led in corner kicks, 10-5.
Lander goalkeeper Katherine Baltz recorded three saves, while CSU's Mary Mancin also had three.
The Lady Bearcats will face the University of Tampa in a non-conference game at 11 a.m., Sunday, in Columbus.
