GREENWOOD - John Pietkiewicz scored a game-high 24 points Saturday afternoon to lead Flagler College to a 66-54 Peach Belt Conference victory over Lander in front of a Homecoming crowd of  2,075 in Horne Arena.

Flagler improves to 10-15 overall and 5-11 in the PBC, while Lander slips to 11-14, 5-11.

Eddie Fowler added 19 points for the Saints, while Kenny Moore scored 13. D.J. Ferguson led Flagler in assists and rebounds with nine and six respectively.

Dane Sparrow connected on 7-of-12 field goals and 2-of-2 free throws to lead Lander with 16 points to go along with six assists. Antonio Pope added 13 points, while Brenton Harris scored eight points and grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds.

Leading 44-43 with 9:31 left in the game, Flagler put together a 13-3 run to take a 57-46 advantage on a Pietkiewicz jumper with 3:11 remaining. Lander cut the Flagler lead to 57-52 with 1:01 left on a Sparrow jumper, but that was as close as the Bearcats would get as they were forced to foul.

The first half featured three ties and eight lead changes as the Bearcats held a 31-28 halftime lead thanks to Darius Johnson's jumper with 32 seconds left in the period.

Lander opened the second half with an 8-4 run to take a 39-32 lead on Johnson's jumper with 15:56 remaing. The seven-point lead was Lander's biggest of the game.

Lander connected on 21-of-54 field goals (2-of-11 threes) for 38.9 percent and made 10-of-18 free throws for 55.6 percent.

Flagler was 21-of-49 (4-of-14 threes) from the field for 42.9 percent and made 20-of-26 foul shots for 76.9 percent.

Lander will host USC Aiken at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, in a PBC contest in Horne Arena.
