GREENWOOD - Lander's Candace LaRocca and Melissa McCracken both recorded double-doubles Saturday afternoon, but it was enough as Lincoln Memorial University's volleyball team rallied from a 2-1 deficit to claim a 3-2 non-conference victory in Horne Arena. LMU won 23-25, 25-20, 13-25, 25-16, 15-9.
LMU improves to 13-3 overall, while Lander moves to 8-9.
LaRocca had 52 assists and 16 digs for the Bearcats, while McCracken added 13 kills and 13 digs. Dederick Hannah and Courtney Simmons led Lander in kills with 15 and 14 respectively, while Madison Kubal added 20 digs and Chelsey Corgan 17 digs and six service aces. Simmons and Dederick also had three blocks each.
LMU's Lauren Kiwacka and Brittany Pugh also had double-doubles to lead the Railsplitters. Kiwack totaled 30 assists and 13 digs, while Pugh had 18 assists and 12 digs. Kaitlin Walton led LMU with 12 kills and four service aces, while Ashley Knight and Blaire Fowler added 11 kills each. Kristen Cantrell recorded 22 digs.
Lander will host Erskine College in a non-conference game at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
