GREENWOOD - The Lander volleyball team rallied for early leads in the second and third sets Saturday afternoon but fell to league-leading Flagler College, 25-13, 25-21, 25-22, in a Peach Belt Conference match in Horne Arena.
Flagler improves to 21-7 overall and 10-1 in the PBC, while Lander drops to 10-14, 4-9.
Freshman Hannah Dederick led Lander with 11 kills and a .333 hitting percentage, while Candace LaRocca and Abbey Focht had 15 and 14 assists respectively. Madison Kubal contributed 15 digs, while Magi Nottingham had 10. Dederick and Jordan Rix teamed up for four block assists each.
Flagler was led by Meg Weathersby (15 kills, 14 digs, 3 block assists), Dianna Craine (11 kills, 9 digs), Rebecca Royal (18 assists), and Olivia Snipes (14 assists, 9 digs).
Lander next travels to Anderson University for a 7 o'clock non-conference game on Tuesday, Nov. 2.
