AUGUSTA, Ga. - The Lander volleyball team evened its Peach Belt Conference record at 2-2 Wednesday night when the Bearcats defeated Augusta State, 3-1, in Christenberry Fieldhouse. Games scores were: 25-19, 27-25, 15-25, 25-15.

Lander improves to 9-4 overall and 2-2 in the PBC, while Augusta State drops to 8-6, 1-2.

Melissa McCracken and Lindsey Everhart had 13 and 10 kills respectively for the Bearcats, while Candace LaRocca contributed 39 assists and three service aces and Chelsey Corgan had 23 digs.

Augusta State was led by Lagi Roberts (17 kills, 12 digs), Jessica Howard (15 kills), Ashley Zappitell (47 assists), and Lindsey Weider (25 digs).

Lander will travel to UNC Pembroke for a 7 p.m. PBC contest on Friday and to Francis Marion for a 3 p.m. conference game on Saturday.
