GREENWOOD - The No. 19 ranked Lander baseball team improved to 14-5 overall Wednesday afternoon when the Bearcats defeated Limestone College, 5-3, in a non-conference contest at Legion Field.
Lander's Chris Thomas (2-0) earned the victory as he struck out six and allowed one earned run on three hits in six innings of work. Andy Quick was awarded the save.
Limestone falls to 10-7 overall. The Saints' Michael McAbee (2-1) suffered the loss as he struck out one, walked two and allowed two earned runs on two hits in two innings pitched.
For Lander, Jeff Caskey went 2-for-3 with one run scored, one RBI and two stolen bases; Devin Ridlehoover went 2-for-4 with one run scored; Robert Skinner went 1-for-3 with two runs scored and one RBI; and Brooks Reames went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Limestone's Drew Lydon went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
