GREENWOOD - The Lander baseball team improved three spots to No. 19 this week in the Collegiate Baseball Magazine national rankings released today.
Last week, Lander, which has been ranked 22nd the past two weeks, split its games with No. 10-ranked North Georgia College & State University.
Cal State Stanislaus and Southern Arkansas are tied for the top spot in the poll and are followed by: 3. Abilene Christian and Mesa State, 5. Grand Valley State, 6. North Georgia, 7. North Alabama, 8. Lenoir-Rhyne, 9. Florida Southern and 10. Franklin Pierce.
The second 10 are: 11. West Chester, 12. Georgia College, 13. Lynn, 14. St. Joseph's, 15. Central Missouri, 16. Cal State Chico, 17. UC San Diego, 18. Ouachita Baptist, 19. Lander, and 20. Angelo State.
Rounding out the top 30 are: 21. Francis Marion, 22. Nova Southeastern, 23. Emporia State, 24. Wayne State, 25. Incarnate Word, 26. St. Mary's, 27. Barry, 28. Anderson, 29. Bellarmine, and 30. Montevallo, Sonoma State, Erskine and Cal State Dominguez Hills.
