FLORENCE - The Lander baseball team improved to 3-1 Friday evening when the Bearcats defeated Limestone College, 7-4, in a non-conference game in the Swamp Fox Challenge hosted by Francis Marion University.

Casey Downam (1-0) picked up the win in relief by pitching three innings of shutout ball, while David Glover earned his second save of the season.

For Lander, Robert Skinner went 3-for-4 with one RBI, Jeff Caskey went 1-for-3 with two runs scored, AJ Nunziato went 1-for-2 with two RBI, and Devin Ridlehoover went 2-for-4 with one RBI.
