Lady Pirates claim regular-season finale against Lander

SAVANNAH, Ga. - The Armstrong Atlantic women's basketball team eased past Lander early in the second half and held the Lady Bearcats at bay for the remainder of the game to pull out 71-64 Peach Belt Conference victory in the regular-season finale for both teams.

Armstrong Atlantic improves 17-10 overall and 12-8 in the PBC, while Lander falls to 17-10, 12-8.

Jasmine Judge led the Bearcat attack with 17 points as she connected on 5-of-12 three-point attempts and 2-of-2 free throws. Kaylyn Small added eight points and 10 rebounds, while Keondra Barnes and Brianna Webb had eight points each.

For Armstrong Atlantic, Lacey Willis scored a game-high 22 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the Lady Pirates. Kelly Versluis added a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds, while Ashley Duhart netted 13 points.

Lander, which led 36-32 at halftime, connected on 23-of-75 field goal attempts for 30.7 percent, including 8-of-24 three pointers for 33.3 percent. The Lady Bearcats made 10-of-19 free throws for 52.6 percent.

Armstrong Atlantic was 28-of-50 from the floor for 56 percent, including 7-of-17 three pointers for 41.2 percent. The Lady Pirates connected on 8-of-12 foul shots for 66.7 percent.

Lander outrebunded AASU, 45-38, and grabbed 27 offensive rebounds.
