SAVANNAH, Ga. - Armstrong Atlantic State's Dwight Tolbert scored a game-high 29 points Saturday afternoon to lead the Pirates to an 81-67 Peach Belt Conference victory over Lander at Alumni Arena.
Armstrong Atlantic State finishes the regular season 22-5 overall and 15-5 in the PBC, while Lander falls to 11-15, 7-13.
Lander was led by Greg Smalls, who scored 14 points, grabbed seven rebounds and had five assists. Darius Johnson and Houston Wright both added 12 points and four rebounds in the loss.
Tolbert connected on 7-of-15 shots for the Pirates and was 13-for-13 from the free throw line. Brian Moultrie added 15 points for AASU.
Lander, which trailed 32-21 at halftime, connected on 21-of-61 field goals for 34.4 percent, including 7-of-19 three pointers for 36.8 percent. The Bearcats made 18-of-28 free throws for 64.3 percent.
AASU made 26-of-51 floor shots for 51 percent, including 6-of-16 three pointers for 37.5 percent. The Pirates were 23-of-35 from the foul line for 65.7 percent.
Lander outrebounded the Pirates, 38-36.
