GREENWOOD - Lander's Melissa McCracken posted a double-double Saturday afternoon, but it wasn't quite enough as the Catawba College women's volleyball team defeated the Bearcats, 3-0, in a non-conference game in Horne Arena. Game scores were: 25-23, 25-18, 25-19.
Catawba improves to 9-7 on the season, while Lander moves to 12-6.
McCracken led the Bearcats with a game-high 15 kills and 16 assists, while Lindsey Everhart added 11 kills, Candace LaRocca 21 assists and four service aces, Abbey Focht 13 digs, Ashley Ferry 11 digs and Chelsey Corgan 10 digs.
Catawba was led by Shay Meeks (12 kills), Kaitlyn Whitmer (11 kills, 14 digs), Alli Parrish (10 kills), Megan Courson (22 assists, 10 digs), Jordan Raye (17 assists), Jenny Young (12 digs) and Mai Zoua Lo (12 digs).
Lander will host Montevallo at 6 p.m., Friday, Oct. 9 in a Peach Belt Conference contest.
