GREENWOOD - The Augusta State volleyball team rallied from a 2-1 deficit Wednesday night to go on and defeat Lander, 3-2, in a Peach Belt Conference match in Horne Arena. The Jaguars won, 25-13, 22-25, 20-25, 25-17, 15-6.

Augusta State improves to 20-10 overall and 7-5 in the PBC, while Lander moves to 17-11, 5-6.

Lagi Roberts recorded a double-double to lead Augusta State as she had 15 kills and 19 digs. Jessica Howard added 13 kills and six digs, Mandy Irizarry 12 kills, Tarah Childress 11 kills and seven digs, Ashley Zappitell 49 assists and eight digs, Lindsey Weider 29 digs, Dianna Meyer 16 digs, and Chase Lowther 10 digs. Weider led the Jaguars in service aces with four, while Childress and Roberts had five and four block assists respectively.

Lander's Melissa McCracken, this week's AVCA National Player of the Week, and Candace LaRocca each posted double-doubles. McCracken had 24 kills and 14 digs, while LaRocca added 40 assists and 11 digs. Lindsey Everhart contributed 14 kills, Ashley Ferry 29 digs, and Chelsey Corgan 15 digs. Ferry and Corgan had three and two service aces respectively, while LaRocca and Everhart added two block assists each.

The Bearcats will travel South this weekend for a pair of PBC games when they face Armstrong Atlantic at 7 p.m., Friday in Savannah, Ga., then go to St. Augustine, Fla. for a 3 p.m. contest on Saturday.
