GREENWOOD - Daniel Hinchberger, a senior from Philomath, Ore., was named the Peach Belt Conference Pitcher of the Week the league office announced today (3/24/08).

Hinchberger allowed just one hit in the Bearcats' 6-0 PBC victory over No. 29 Augusta State on Friday night. He had a no-hitter going into the ninth inning when the second ASU batter singled up the middle. Hinchberger struck out 11 and walked five against 28 batters faced.

His ERA improved to 2.50 with 52 strikeouts in 57.2 innings pitched. He leads the PBC in opponent's batting average and is fifth in ERA and strikeouts.
