COLUMBUS, Ga. - Monica Sicka scored a game-high 25 points Saturday afternoon to lead the Columbus State women's basketball team to a 92-74 Peach Belt Conference victory over Lander at the Lumpkin Center.
Columbus State improves to 13-7 overall and 9-7 in the PBC, while Lander drops to 14-9, 8-5.
Tiara Good led Lander with 22 points, while Shannon McKever added 12 and LaShonda Chiles 11 points. Andrea Butler led the Bearcats in rebounds (8) and steals (4), while Kianna Smith dished off six assists.
Sicka connected on 10-of-16 field goals and 3-of-5 free throws for CSU. Turelle Jones added 20 points, Ashley Stafford 16 and Maria Grimes 14. Hali Moore grabbed a game-high 15 rebounds.
Columbus, which led 44-33 at halftime, maded 34-of-71 field goals for 47.9 percent, 5-of-15 three pointers for 33.3 percent and 19-of-27 free throws for 70.4 percent. The Cougars outrebounded Lander, 51-31.
Lander connected on 29-of-68 floor shots for 42.6 percent, 8-of-22 three pointers for 36.4 percent and 8-of-13 free throws for 61.5 percent.
