MORROW, Ga. - Michael Sloan scored 18 points, while Bernard Fields added 15 to lead the Clayton State University men's basketball team to a 68-64 Peach Belt Conference overtime victory over Lander Saturday at the Athletics & Fitness Center.
Clayton State improves to 13-12 overall and 9-9 in the PBC, while Lander falls to 9-16, 6-12.
Zach Evans led Lander with a game-high 24 points, while Houston Wright netted 10. Brenton Harris and Curtis Milner grabbed nine rebounds each for the Bearcats. Evans connected on 9-of-18 field goals and 3-of-3 free throws.
The Bearcats, who led 25-23 at halftime, connected on 22-of-69 field goals, including 8-of-38 three pointers for 21.1 percent. Lander also made 12-of-15 free throws for 80 percent.
Clayton State, who won the rebound battle, 47-42, made 22-of-56 shots from the field for 39.3 percent, including 5-of-22 three pointers for 22.7 percent. The Lakers were 19-of-31 from the foul line for 61.3 percent.
