GREENWOOD - The Lander volleyball team remained perfect in Peach Belt Conference play Saturday afternoon when the Bearcats defeated Augusta State, 25-12, 22-25, 25-9, 28-26, in Horne Arena.
Lander improves to 14-4 overall and 2-0 in the PBC, while Augusta State falls to 8-14, 0-4.
Magi Nottingham posted a double-double for Lander with 14 kills, 15 digs and four service aces, while Kay Stewart and Kerri Sorensen added 12 digs each. Candace LaRocca had 47 assists and nine digs, Mallory Wasik 10 kills and eight digs, Marina Camps 28 digs and Ashley Ferry seven digs.
Augusta State was led by Jessica Howard (12 kills), Jessica Hanson (11 kills), Amy Hunt (10 kills), Ashley Zappitell (41 assists, eight digs), Lindsey Weider (20 digs), Chase Lowther (11 digs, seven kills), and Dianna Meyer (four service aces).
Lander will host Armstrong Atlantic in a PBC game at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 7.
