GREENWOOD – Belmont Abbey scored four goals in the final 30 minutes of the game to hand Lander its first loss of the season, 4-1, Saturday afternoon in non-conference women's soccer.
Belmont Abbey improved to 3-3 while the Lady Bearcats dropped to 2-1.
Lander took the lead with 9:10 left in the first half when Christina Barbour got behind the goalkeeper and tapped the ball in off a long pass from Jessica Skowron, who was credited with the assist.
The Crusaders tied the game with 29:33 left when Lindsey Palm scored off an assist from Stephanie Leotti. Belmont Abbey grabbed a 2-1 lead just two minutes and 28 seconds later when Celena Morela scored off Erin Kolb's assist with 27:05 to go.
Amanda Maddock gave the Crusaders some breathing room with 11:44 left when she scored on a long shot from the right side off an assist from Leotii.
Kelsey Lovell scored Belmont Abbey's final goal with just 49 seconds left off LaKesha Bell's assist.
Lander out-shot the Crusaders 13-12 and had a 5-3 edge in corner kicks. Anna Donaldson had eight saves in goal for Belmont Abbey while Rachael Hine had three stops for the Lady Bearcats.
