SPARTANBURG, S.C.----Jannica Finnberg scored three goals in the first 16 minutes of play Wednesday night to lead the Lander women's soccer team to a 4-0 non-conference victory over Converse College.

Lander improves to 2-0 overall, while the All-Stars drop to 1-3.

Finnberg netted her first goal at 5:28, then gave Lander a 2-0 lead on an assist from Christina Barbour at 13:00.  Three minutes later she scored another unassisted goal for a 3-0 lead. Georgie Mahon gave the Bearcats a 4-0 lead at 61:00.

Lander goalkeeper Rachael Hine had one save, while Katherine Baltz and Kristin Nicholson had two each.

Lander outshot Converse, 20-5, and led in corner kicks, 8-0.

Converse goalkeeper Ashley Mercuri was credited with 17 saves.
