SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Lander volleyball team lost its second consecutive game Friday night when the Bearcats fell to Armstrong Atlantic State University, 3-1, in a Peach Belt Conference contest. AASU outscored the Bearcats, 16-30, 30-23, 30-26, 30-28.
The Pirates improve to 5-13 overall and 1-1 in the PBC, while Lander drops to 11-4, 0-2.
Lander placed four players in double digit kills, led by Kay Stewart's 14 and Kerri Sorensen's 12. Sara Senn and Andrea Griffin each contributed 11 kills, while Candace LaRocca notched 42 assists and
Melissa Trippany tallied a match-high 30 digs.
Gwen Clarke hit a career-high .474 with a career-high 19 kills for AASU, besting her previous high of 11. Antje Reuleke added 16 kills for the Pirates, while Kara Jerden notched a match-high 53 assists to go with 20 digs on the evening.
