AIKEN, S.C. – After heavy rain delayed the start of their Peach Belt Conference series finale for three hours, USC Aiken (11-3, 6-0 PBC) racked up 18 hits and stayed undefeated in PBC play with a 15-4 win over visiting Lander (3-10, 0-6) at Robert Hernandez Field.
Chris Sheehan went 4-for-5 at the plate as 11 different Pacers collected at least one hit, and the hosts won game three of the series with the Bearcats.
Beau Hill (4-0) scattered nine hits over 7.2 innings, giving up four runs, three earned, while striking out four and picking off two.
Lander's Derek Wilson (0-3) took the loss, striking out four, walking six and allowing eight runs (two earned) on six hits in 4.2 innings.
For Lander, T.J. Guinan went 1-for-4 with one triple and one run scored, Jesse Barbaro (1-for-4, one double, one RBI) and Malcolm McCleod (1-for-3, one double, one run, one RBI) both doubled. Jonathan Myers went 2-for-3 with one run scored and one RBI.
For USC Aiken, Chris Sheehan went 4-for-5 with one double, two runs scored and one RBI; and Darryl Pui went 2-for-6 with one double, one run scored and two RBI. Ken Raborn went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI; and Marc Joehnk went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
