AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Lander volleyball team defeated Augusta State 30-23, 30-14, 27-30, 30-18 in a Peach Belt Conference match Friday night at Christenberry Fieldhouse.

Lander improved to 19-6 overall and 3-2 in the conference while Augusta fell to 14-14 overall.

Sara Senn led the Lady Bearcats with 16 kills and a .394 hitting percentage. Setter Candace LaRocca recorded 51 assists and Melissa Trippany notched 22 digs.

Sophomore middle blocker Jessica Howard led the Jags with 13 kills and four block solos, she accumulated a .345 hitting percentage. Sophomore Lindsey Weider paced the Jags with 35 digs, while senior Jessica Lowes booked 36 assists.
