AMERICUS, Ga.----Jarred Jackson scored 18 points to lead the Lander men's basketball team to a 74-66 Peach Belt Conference victory Saturday afternoon over Georgia Southwestern.
Lander improves to 12-7 overall and 6-2 in the PBC, while GSW slips to 10-8, 3-5.
Jackson connected on 4-of-10 field goals and 9-of-10 free throws. Emanuel Hodrea added 13 points and five rebounds, while Michael Griffin had 12 points and four assists and Curtis Milner had eight rebounds and two blocked shots.
Shawn King scored a game-high 31 points and grabbed five rebounds to lead the Hurricanes, while Norbey Aragon netted 16 points and Adrian Robinson 14.
GSW, which led 37-31 at halftime, connected on 23-of-46 field goals for 50 percent, 9-of-15 three pointers for 60 percent and 11-of-19 free throws for 57.9 percent. Lander made 28-of-54 field goals for 51.9 percent, 5-of-11 three pointers for 45.5 percent and 13-of-18 free throws for 72.2 percent.
