ANDERSON, S.C.----The Lander women's volleyball team finished the season-opening Anderson Invitational with a perfect 4-0 record Saturday when the Bearcats collected victories over Brevard, 31-29, 30-20, 30-17, and host Anderson, 30-25, 24-30, 30-27, 30-18.

Against Brevard, Andrea Griffin had 10 kills and three blocks, while Kay Stewart added eight kills. Jennifer (JJ) Edwards posted 18 assists, Melissa Trippany had four digs and Sara Senn one service ace.

Against Anderson, Stewart had 18 kills and 4.5 blocks, Kerri Sorensen had 13 kills and Senn had two service aces. Carly Plecha and Edwards recorded 22 and 18 assists respectively, while Marina Camp and Trippany posted 10 digs each.

In Friday's competition, Lander defeated Claflin and Notre Dame (Ohio) College, 3-0.
