GREENWOOD----Sara Senn had 16 kills and 13 digs Saturday afternoon to lead the Lander volleyball team to a 3-0 Peach Belt Conference victory over Augusta State at Horne Arena in the Bearcats regular-season finale.
Lander improves to 20-14 overall and 2-10 in the PBC, while Augusta State drops to 12-19, 1-11. Lander won the match, 30-27, 30-23, 30-28.
Kerri Sorensen added 17 kills for Lander while Kay Stewart had 12 and Andrea Griffin 10. Stewart also had one block assist and one solo block. Jennifer (JJ) Edwards had a team-high 38 assists, while Melissa Trippany had 10 digs and five service aces.
Augusta State was led by Brooke Elder (nine kills), Jessica Howard (nine kills), Jessica Lowes (29 assists and 18 digs) and Brittany Hotz (18 digs).
The Lady Jags will play at Newberry on Oct. 31. The Peach Belt Conference tournament will be held Nov. 3-4 at Francis Marion University in Florence, S.C.
