GREENWOOD – Erskine freshman Aisha Reed had two goals and an assist, leading the Flying Fleet to a 3-1 victory over Lander in a non-conference women's soccer match Wednesday.
Erskine improved to 1-0-1 while the Lady Bearcats fell to 1-1.
The Fleet scored the first two goals of the match. Freshman forward Casey Cash scored off a double assist from freshmen forwards Virginia Walker and Reed at the 8:49 mark. Reed scored the second goal at the 23:24 mark off an assist from Walker.
Lander pulled within 2-1 with 13:33 left in the first half on a goal by senior midfielder Noel Livernois with an assist from junior midfielder Elise Goldy.
But Reed gave Erskine its two-goal lead back with a goal at the 61:48 mark. Lander had several scoring opportunities but could not cash in.
The Lady Bearcats outshot Erskine 10-9. Lander's Rachael Hine had four saves while the Fleet's Katy Jackson had three. Lander had four corner kicks to Erskine's two.
