NEWBERRY, S.C.----The Lander women's basketball team improved to 2-4 on the season Wednesday when it defeated Newberry College, 76-58, in a non-conference game.

Christy Burrows (at right) led the Lady Senators with 22 points, while Shorell Harrison added 14, Jackie Entzminger 11 and Cindy Koone 10. Entzminger led the team in rebounds with nine, while Latia Dixon had a team-high six assists.

Lander will host Georgia College in its Peach Belt Athletic Conference opener at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 10.

Newberry, which drops to 3-5, was led by Tiffany Johnson's game-high 23 points.
