Destiney Lawson brings two years of coaching experience to Lander’s cheer program. A former Bearcat athlete, she cheered competitively and at game day events for five years at Lander University, serving as co-captain and earning multiple leadership awards.
As a student-athlete, she helped Lander earn a CANAM Championship (2022), the NCA Collegiate National Championship “Go Be Great Award” (2023), and several top-10 national finishes. As a coach, she contributed to the program’s 2024 NCA “Go Be Great Award” win.
A native of Pauline, S.C., Lawson earned her B.S. in Nursing with a minor in Healthcare Management from Lander University and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Nursing Education.
