Fuel Earns PBC Runner of the Week Honors for Second Time in Career

MARTINEZ, Ga. – Senior Carly Fuel has been named the Peach Belt Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week, the league announced Monday afternoon. It marks the second time in Fuel's career she has earned a PBC weekly honor after receiving the award last September following her school-record 5K performance.

The West Columbia, S.C., native earned this week's honor after finishing 17th in 18:45.1 at the Tryon Western NC XC Showcase on Friday. Fuel was the third-highest non-Division I finisher and the second-highest Division II finisher in the women's 5K.

Fuel has led the Bearcats in both races she has competed in this season, including breaking her own Lander 6K record at the Furman Invitational two weeks ago.

The Lander cross country teams return to action Oct. 9 at the Royals XC Challenge in Charlotte, N.C.
