AUGUSTA, Ga. – Four members of the Lander women's soccer team were named to the Peach Belt Conference All-Conference Team, it was announced today.
Leah Hayes Coen and
Peyton Bibbee each nabbed First Team selections for the first time in their careers, and
Sophia Trio and
Kylie Wilson were named to the Second Team for the first time.
Hayes Coen produced five solo clean sheets this season and recorded 10 wins as a steady presence in goal for the Bearcats. This is her second appearance on the All-Conference Team (2023), thanks in large part to her .759 goals-against average and .820 save percentage that were both second in the PBC.
Bibbee started every game this season for Lander and controlled the midfield while scoring three goals and adding a pair of assists – those eight points were second-most on the team.
Trio likewise added three goals and two assists for the Bearcats in her freshman season as a 15-game starter.
Wilson, a sophomore, has played all but 13 minutes this season as the anchor of the Bearcat defense. That equates to 1,327 minutes played, the most on the team, and she also scored her first career goal at Columbus State back on Oct. 11.
Lander hosts USC Beaufort in tomorrow's PBC quarterfinals at
Van Taylor Stadium. Kick-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
and tickets can be purchased online here.
