GREENWOOD - UNC Pembroke defeated Lander 1-0 Wednesday evening in non-conference women's soccer action.
The Bearcat defense held a Braves offense averaging almost four goals a game and 25 shots per game to just one goal and 11 shots. The Bearcats had several opportunities, but their shots just missed the mark.
Lander keeper Taylor Frew made six saves in goal to help keep the Pembroke offense in check.
