COLUMBUS, Ga. - Fourth-seeded Lander shutout USC Aiken 2-0 Friday afternoon to advance to the Peach Belt Women's Soccer Championship Semifinals for the second-straight season.
The Bearcats outshot the Pacers 15-9 and allowed Aiken to take just two shots on goal. In the 22nd minute, Haneen Tamim found Mary Moosbrugger for her third goal of the season to give Lander a 1-0 lead. The Bearcats took the one-goal lead into halftime. Maren White gave Lander some breathing room when she converted a penalty kick in the 55th minute to make it 2-0.
With the win, Lander advances to take on top-seeded Columbus State Sunday in the semifinals.
