EVANS, Ga. - Flagler defeated Lander 2-1 in double-overtime to advance to the championship of the Peach Belt Women's Soccer Tournament Friday night.
The first half was a defensive battle, with neither team able to find the net through most of the period. With just under a minute and a half left, Maren White would score on a direct kick from 25 yards out to give the Bearcats the lead going into intermission.
Lander continued to hold the lead until the 80th minute when Annie Habeeb scored for Flagler to tie the game. The game remained tied for the final ten minutes, and neither team could get a shot off in the first overtime. Three minutes into the final overtime, Andrea Fernandez would score from about 30 yards out to give Flagler the win.
