ELON, N.C. – The Lander men's rugby team secured the Southern Rugby Conference championship on Sunday with a 43-16 road victory over Elon. 

The Bearcats (7-1) advance to the National Small College Rugby Organization (NSCRO) Mid-Atlantic South Region Champions Cup on Nov. 16-17 in Raleigh, N.C. 

In Lander's five victories played on the field this seaosn, the Bearcats have won by an average of 21.8 points per match.
