Lander topples Emmanuel behind Hritz, Kuenstler

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – The Lander volleyball team closed out Emmanuel with wins in three consecutive games to top the Lions, 3-1, on Tuesday night. 

With the win, Lander (10-2) notched its sixth win in seven matches, while the Lions (4-6) dropped their fourth match in five outings.

Offensively for Lander, Hannah Hritz led the Bearcats with 19 kills, while Reilly Kuenstler tallied 13 kills on .417 hitting. Madilyn Reed recorded 47 of Lander's 51 assists on the night. Hannah McManus's defensive presence was felt as she led all players with 29 digs. Boo Luther finished with 14 digs, while Corey Nichols posted 12 digs in the win. 

On the night, Lander held a .178 to .129 hitting percentage advantage. The Bearcats also finished with 72 digs to Emmanuel's 65. 

Friday, Lander opens Peach Belt Conference play when the Bearcats host Flagler at 7:00 p.m.
