Bearcats open Peach Belt Conference Tournament against No. 4 Columbus State

FLORENCE, S.C. – The eighth-seeded Lander women's tennis team makes its return to the Peach Belt Conference Tournament on Friday morning as the Bearcats face No. 4-ranked and top-seeded Columbus State in the quarterfinals of the PBC tournament at 12:00 p.m., at the Dr. Eddie Floyd Florence Tennis Center.

STORYLINES

• Lander is participating in its 18th Peach Belt Conference tournament. The Bearcats own a 4-14 all-time record in the tournament. 

• The Bearcats are playing in the PBC Tournament for the first time since 2015. 

• Lander is meeting Columbus State in the PBC tournament for the second time. The Cougars defeated Lander 5-0 in the second round in 2009. 

Eduarda Ferreira became the first Bearcat in history to earn back-to-back all-PBC honors. 

• Lander's last win in the tournament came in 2014 against Montevallo. 

• The Bearcats fell to Columbus State on the road on Apr. 12.
