GREENWOOD – Following a strong season, Lander women's tennis junior Eduarda Ferreira has been tabbed to the All-Peach Belt second team, as announced by the conference on Thursday.
Ferreira is the first Bearcat in program history to earn all-conference honors in back-to-back seasons, after being named a second team all-PBC performer as a sophomore.
The Rondonopolis, Brazil, native finished the regular season with a 16-5 mark in singles play, including a 16-4 record as Lander's No. 1 player. Her success at first singles moved Ferreira to No. 68 nationally, according to the ITA/Oracle Singles Rankings. Her 16 victories this season are the most since Eliza Adusumilli posted 16 wins in 2011.
Ferreira and the rest of the Bearcats head to Florence, S.C., to kick off the PBC Tournament against No. 4-ranked Columbus State on Friday. First serve is slated for noon.
