GREENWOOD – Lander senior forward Emily Jermstad has been named the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week, it was revealed by the league office Monday afternoon.
An Irmo, S.C. native, Jermstad scored her first career hat trick and added an assist against Francis Marion last Wednesday. She also scored a goal in the Bearcats 3-2 overtime victory over Columbus State on Saturday.
The award marks the first such honor of Jermstad's career. Jamie Shaw, on October 22, 2012, was the last time a Lander women's soccer player received a conference player of the week honor.
Lander returns to Van Taylor Stadium on Wednesday as they face conference foe Clayton State for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff.
