GREENWOOD – Sparked by an Emily Jermstad hat trick, the Lander women's soccer team cruised to a 5-0 win over Francis Marion on Wednesday evening.

The strong performance improves the Bearcats to 3-3-1 overall as they earn their first conference win of the season. The Patriots fall to 3-3-1 overall and 0-2 in conference play.

Emily Jermstad records her first career hat trick. Brianna Taylor earned her second goal of the season. Devin Duhme recorded her first goal of the season.

The Bearcats quickly got on the scoreboard thanks to a Briana Taylor goal in the 5th minute. In the 33rd minute, Emily Jermstad would break free and connect on a shot from 19 yards out to give the Bearcats a two-goal lead going into halftime.

Coming out of the break, the Bearcats would continue to play with urgency as Devin Duhme would quickly find the back of the net off of an Emily Jermstad assist to extend the Bearcats lead.
