Bearcats renew rivalry with Erskine in road showdown Wednesday

DUE WEST, S.C. – The Lander women's soccer team hits the road Wednesday evening looking to continue its unbeaten start to the season as the Bearcats face rival Erskine at 5:00 p.m.

• Wednesday's match will mark the 20th meeting between the Bearcats and Flying Fleet. Lander defeated Erskine 3-1 in Greenwood last season. The Bearcats (4-0) are searching for their first win in Due West since 2014. 

• The Bearcats hold an 11-7-1 all-time record against Erskine (1-2). Lander is 11-1 in its last 12 matches against the Flying Fleet.  

• Lander defeated Wingate 1-0 on Saturday thanks to a goal from Juliette Vidal in the 62nd minute. 

• Vidal is one of only four players in the Peach Belt Conference with multiple game-winning goals this season. 

• The victory over Wingate marked Lander's second road win in as many attempts this year, the first time the Bearcats had accomplished that feat since 2014. 

• Lander has attempted 68 shots through its first four matches, averaging 17.0 per match. 

Emily Jermstad has three assists in Lander's first four contests, matching her total from last season.
